Our family LOVES Lake Siskiyou. My wife and I have been going there since 2001 (long before we had kids). We took our older son two years ago for the first time and went with our entire crew of four this summer. It seriously can't be beat. The only drawback is the long 5 hour drive. We just booked for July 4, 2013! Yes, 2012 was already booked up. A true hidden gem. Lake Sis!
One of the prettiest multi-use camping and RV facilities in the state, the resort is located at a large reservoir in a fresh, clean, pine-scented setting. You can rent a fully equipped trailer on-site or bring your own tent or RV.
Day-trippers are welcome to lounge on the 1,000-foot-long sandy beach, swim, or launch a fishing boat. Available to rent are water toys, kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, sailboats, and fishing equipment. Also here are a store, a snack bar, outdoor movies, and a playground. Check out the new gift shop and general store and upgrades all around the grounds. A new, 7-mile walking and biking trail circles the lake.At the end of W. A. Barr Road, Gumboot Lake is a tiny, shallow bit of icy water stocked with trout, surrounded by meadows, mountains, and forests. Bring a picnic, an inflatable raft, or a canoe.
