We stayed at Kingsmill recently for about 5 days. It was a great place to stay - especially for us since we have an infant. The reserved the one room suite which wasn't much more expensive than the regular rooms. The suite had a full size kitchen, washer/dryer, huge living area and big bedroom. It had a balcony facing the James River. When I made the reservations they asked the age of the child and offered the use of a pack and play and highchair. Both were in the room when we arrived. The resort was very large - several pools (indoor and out), a long path within the resort (4 miles), marina where you can rent things, a game room (foosball, video games, board games, etc). They also had a program for kids that has activities, snack, etc. so mom and dad can go to a nice quiet dinner. There are several restaurants on the resort. Tons of tennis courts, I saw at least one playground. Everything within walking distance - no constantly strapping the kids in. And most importantly - an awesome spa. Hubby and I both got massages - we staggered our appts so the other could watch our little one. We will definitely return. As a bonus Williamsburg was just about 10 minutes away. In order to get on the resort you need a pass - so somewhat safe. We really enjoyed our stay.
Located about five minutes from the historic area on the James River, this condominium and hotel property offers a nice oasis away from the historic area’s hustle and bustle.
The one- to three-bedroom condos give families the convenience of kitchens plus more room
for the money.
The on-site resort facilities include golf, tennis, a very nice spa, and a Sports Club featuring an indoor swimming pool, exercise equipment, racquetball, a recreation room with pool table and video games, and a moderately priced restaurant.
In summer the property offers Kid’s Camp, a supervised half-day or full-day children’s program for kids between 5 and 12 (divided into 5–7 and 8–12), with fishing, nature sessions, golf, tennis, arts and crafts, and swimming. There’s also a Spa Camp (fingernail painting, minifacials) for ages 5 to 12. Kids Night Out (dinner and a movie) is offered Thursday through Saturday in the summer, and Junior Guest Registration provides a Kids Fun Pack upon arrival at the resort.
