"awesome place for families"
We went in Oct 2011 for 10 nights with 1 senior, 2 adults, 3 kids- 4,6,8. We stayed in the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite and had lots of room. Kitchen table should of been for 6 instead of 4 would of been nicer. My mom stayed in 1 bedroom, my husband and I stayed in the other one and the kids slept in the middle living room part on pull out couch and floor. Breakfast is great - free everyday - lots of choices with cold or hot. They even had free suppers with comp beer and wine mon-thurs 5-7 but get there on time as not much left at the end but well worth it to save money on suppers. Very clean and friendly

"Extremely family friendly place to stay while visiting Legoland and Carlsbad"
As a mother of two small children, I am always a huge fan of suite style hotel rooms. It gives our family space to spread out, a kitchen to store snacks in, and a living area for us parents to retreat to while the kids sleep. The Homewood Suites brand has never dissappointed me in the past and the Carlsbad location is certainly no exception.
The hotel is located only a couple miles from Legoland and about 3 miles from Interstate 5. The beach is about 4 miles away.
The rooms are all suite style and include full kitchens (including a full refrigerator, two burner stove, microwave and dishawasher), living rooms with pull out couches, and bedrooms with comfy beds. The decor is clean and contemporary. There are flat panel tvs in both the living room and bedroom. The bathrooms have Neutragena toiletries so leave your travel shampoos at home!
Did you also happen to forget snacks, detergent, and tylenol? Well have no fear, Homewood Suites Carlsbad has a nifty little store in the lobby. They also have laundry facilities on site so when junior makes a spaghetti mess on his clothes, you can wash them before the stains set.
Another great thing about staying here is the breakfast. There is the normal continental breakfast grub, along with waffles, omlettes, and biscuits and gravy. Everything was tasty and its always nice to be able to eat a meal at the hotel before starting the day.
The pool area is not too big but its plenty big enough. The best thing about it is that the pool is surrounded by a plexiglass wall which keeps wandering little ones out of the water when they aren't supposed to be in there. There is also a spa to warm up in if the nights are cool. My son's favorite hotel feature was the ping pong table in the same courtyard where the pool is located.
Cribs (aka pack n plays) and high chairs are complimentary and childrens video rentals are available.
There is also a fitness center for you crazy folks who like to excercise while on vacation and a business center for crazy folks like me who always have to work while on vacation.
Overall I give this hotel two huge thumbs up and would highly recommend this hotel to any friends who are visiting the area. It really is a great place for families to stay.
