We took our 4 year old with us for a Chicago overnight for my husband's birthday. We parked across the street in Nordstrom's parking lot which was cheaper then valet at the hotel. The woman at the front desk was friendly and quick. Our room was a corner suite that was very quiet. My daughter loved the pool though if going for just for the pool, you might find better. I did like the exercise room overlooked the pool so you could let your kids swim while you work out. Breakfast was a great buffet with lots of healthy options. Check out was super easy. We will definitely go back here again.
Our family is now in love with the Homeward Suites chain. Their suites with kitchen was just perfect for our family. However with the complimentary breakfast and dinners, we hardly had to use it. Nonetheless, it was useful for preparing snacks, warming up milk and just eating in our rooms. The had containers ready for guests who rather eat in their room than in the dining room. In any case, there were food markets within walking distance. It saves so much money to not be eating out every night. The large rooms at this hotel allowed us to spread out. Sometimes when we stay in hotels with the kids, it feel like everyone is on top of each other - not here.
The hotel was a few blocks from the Double Decker Tour bus stop - so this worked out very well. Forget about driving your car because valet parking is $42/day. There so so much within walking distance including a beach.
This is not a luxury hotel, but it works well for a family and really is value for money if you take advantage of the free breakfast and dinners.
This hotel is great for families beacuse it offers a mini kitchen and separate bedroom. The parents slept comfortably in the king size bed and the two kids slept on an upgraded pullout sofa. The room has two televisions, an almost full-size refrigerator and a microwave. They offer free hot breakfast with your stay as well. The location is within walking distance to many activities and is convenient to public transportation.
