Any time a pool is available for swimming for my boys (6,8) we all tend to think the hotel is awesome.  This particular hotel improved itself in our eyes simply by the pool.  Otherwise, it would not get a very high rating from us.  The pool area at this hotel was indoor and warm.  It was a bit muggy from all the steam but that was better than the cold snow outside.  They splashed and played while we soaked in the hot tub.

The hallway was loud with the many Christmas vacationers and the carpet had a musty odor from the tracked in snow.  We slept comfortably, although the window box heating and air was quite loud when it came on.

The breakfast room was very crowded and hard to maneuver with our children.  We had to leave some of them seated at a table so we could wander the edges of the room gathering our food for us and them.  Inevitably we'd forget something as soon as we sat down and would have to wander through the crowd again to get it.  That was our least favorite part of this hotel.

"staying there is o.k."

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Tusayan in January 2010.
This was positive:
- It is located a 5 min drive from the Grand Canyon National Park South Entrance.
- The rooms were o.k..
- The hotel has an indoor pool with a hot tub.
- Hotel is located in walking distance to 3 or 4 restaurants and the IMAX.
- Rooms were clean.

This was not so good:
-Breakfast is only served until 9.30 (Arizona time!) and the staff was not able to give us some milk for our little one after that.
- The pool area was not heated  and ice cold. The pool was heated.
- Rooms could have needed some renovation, the heating system is very loud.

So, staying at this hotel is o.k but not more.
