"Working farm with organic gardens"
On a 1,600-acre ranch in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, the first hostel in California, established in 1937. Rustic, heated cabins, plus a fireplace and piano in the common room. This is a working farm with organic gardens. Nearby are hiking trails and parks. Check out the website for ideas on educational opportunities for your kids.

A stay at Hidden Villa Hostel offers the quiet charm of country life with easy access to the city lights of Silicon Valley. Founded by Josephine and Frank Duveneck in 1937, our Hostel is the oldest operating hostel in the United States. Uniquely situated on a 1,600-acre organic farm and wilderness preserve in a tranquil valley at the base of the Santa Cruz Mountain foothills, miles of hiking trails are just steps from the Hostel door. The main building, office and bathrooms, rebuilt in 2001, showcase environmentally sustainable technology and design.
Hidden Villa is a non-smoking environment due to fire hazard.
