A friend was saying the other day that she wished they could take their family to Las Vegas, but it was too expensive, especially any entertainment. So I thought I'd write about our last visit there - cheapo!! We actually splurged and rented a timeshare (through http://www.redweek.com) at the HGVT at the Flamingo resort, but still we only paid $143/night to sleep Six!! 5 stars!! But, we have rented timeshares off the Strip for as little as $50night, so it can be done. The expensive entertainment issue is dealt with by concentrating on all of the free events and activities - and there's plenty. On the Strip is the free Sirens of Ti outside the Treasure Island Hotel, and the Volcano Show at the Mirage. The Mirage also has a Tropical Rain Forest to walk through, a huge saltwater aquarium, and the exhibit of the rare white tigers. The MGM Grand has an exhibit of lions. The fountains at the Bellagio was one of our favorites - all but our youngest could have stayed there for hours! Off the Strip is the Fremont Street Show downtown Las Vegas, and the Sunset Stampede Water Show at Sam's Town. And this is just to mention a Few of the free entertainment venues in Las Vegas! It's a great place for a family vacation, and you can keep it very inexpensive. And the kitchen in your timeshare for meals helps, too.
