"Lovely hotel, with all the amenities, but poor service"

The Hawthorne Suites outside Kings Bay, GA are beautiful. Built as a hotel for people traveling on business, this place has all the amenities one would expect.  Outdoor pool, Fitness Center, Business Center, wi-fi in every room, Complimentary Breakfast, and more were available.  The room was on the smallish side, but the bed was sumptuous enough to make up for that, and the kitchenette and pull out sofa in a separate living area were a definite plus, allowing the adults a measure of privacy.  

Unfortunately, it was not conveniently located.  The area was somewhat isolated and it was quite a trek to get anywhere of interest.  On the positive side, it was nestled within a larger travel plaza area that also contained restaurants of various price ranges and tastes, and some places there deliver food, so you will definitely not go hungry, even if you never use the kitchenette for more than the coffeepot.  Still, it was close to the submarine base, where I needed to be.  

The staff were less than helpful, even when nothing else was going on to distract them.  Nothing was actually brought to the room, instead we were required to walk down to the desk and pick up extra linens.  I felt that the employees were less interested in keeping the guests happy than in gossiping and just generally laying about.  I would probably not stay there in the future, if ever I need to travel to Kings Bay again.
