Was it the rustic western charm, the warm welcome of family, the passionate love for horses, or the happy laughter rising from every corner? All I can say is that when you arrive at Greenhorn Creek Ranch, you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to a different era where families gathered to dance and sing around the fire, told stories, and played games after dinner. All transportation is on horseback and the relationship between man and beast was weaved together tightly.
ROOMS ARE RUSTIC BUT VERY CLEAN
At Greenhorn Creek Guest Ranch, there are rooms in the main lodge that sleep as many three to a room, 8 one bedroom cabins that sleep up to four as well as 8 two bedroom cabins that sleep up to six. All rooms have a rustic décor, even the two most newly renovated cabins 9 and 10. If you prefer to have kids in a different room, opt for the two bedroom cabins. All in all, we found the beds fairly comfortable and most importantly, the rooms and bathrooms felt clean. Although summer day temperatures can rise to the high 80s, the cool evening air made for comfortable sleeping temperatures.
Towels are provided both in the rooms and poolside but do bring your own toiletries and hairdryer. Several cribs are available upon request, but be sure to reserve one ahead of time so you aren’t disappointed when you check in.
STAFF ARE REALLY WARM AND FRIENDLY
Trish and Ralph who own Greenhorn Creek Ranch lead a staff of the kindest people. The staff at Greenhorn Creek Ranch embrace each guest with incredible warmth. Everyone throughout the ranch greeted us with a friendly smile and was eager to offer help. In that casual unassuming way, the staff make it a point to bend over backwards to try to meet your specific needs. If you’ve got special physical or dietary need, they will do their best to accommodate you. If you’re coming as a group and want them to put together a special package for you, just give them a call and they’ll work it out. I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Greenhorn Creek Guest Ranch.
At Greenhorn Creek, you arrive and everything is taken care off. You can put away your check book and just enjoy yourself. All your horseback riding sessions, meals, and all the other games and activities. There is so much to fill up your time, but some days, all you might want to do is park yourself under a shady tree with a good book. Horseback riding is an expensive activity, so when you consider that the price includes all your rides, the one week package really is a fair price. Can't afford a whole week, consider a 3-4 day trip instead.
*This review is based on a complimentary stay at Greenhorn Creek Guest Ranch. I received no other compensation and the ranch did not state any requirements that I express a particular point of view.
If you like horses, you'll love Greenhorn Creek. The all-included guest ranch has real cowboys to teach you to ride, great food in the Chuckhouse, comfortable (but simple) accomodations, and LOTS to do. A fishing pond, frog-races, a pool, campfires, singalongs, and so much more. Even the smallest cowpokes get treated well in the Kiddie Korral with dedicated staff to play with. We've gone for 4 years in a row, and absolutely love it. Adults, teens, little ones.
This is a true "cowboy" guest ranch with a great kids riding program. The property is family-oriented with a range of activities including onsite fishing ponds. We all loved our experience as there is something to do for every age group. We still talk about our adventure riding a mustang in a lake - bareback!
