What an AMAZING hotel! This place is great with or without kids. The grounds are kept so nice. The pools are to die for. There is a seperate kiddie pool, (which is HUGE) water slides, volleyball net, saltwater lagoon, etc. You could entertain your children for a full day at the pool alone.
Not only is the pool great, but the staff is so friendly.
I would recommend springing for the daily buffet. They have a omlet chef daily, and many kid friendly foods.
This place is a bit pricey, but well worth it!
This is the hotel my husband and I stayed in for our Honeymoon and would like to go back and bring our daughter to. They have a great pool and if you get the "sunshine on sale" special (free breakfast) you can make do without eating lunch!! The spa services are the best and should be taken advantage of at least once.
A perfect resort for the entire family and a great place to explore the island from. The resort has great kid programs although they aren't cheap (For kids 3-12; about $75/day). Our kids loved all the hotel pools. The Hyatt's got freshwater pools, salt pools, waterfalls, slides, and secret coves. There's a kiddie pool area too for those with little tikes.
Tidepools is a nice restaurant, but I sometimes felt bad being in there with all the romantic couples when our kids were little. Now it's easier to enjoy for everyone. The Hyatt sometimes has family activities like Family Fun Theater Nights and Teen Nights. Also, since it' so family-friendly, your kids might even befriend another kid or two around the hotel.
Located on the South Shore of Kauai, this is also a great spot from which to explore the beaches of the South Shore. If you have little ones and are looking for calm surf, come during the winter and spring when the surf is low. During the summer, the waves picks up and it becomes a great place to learn to surf, but not fit for little kids. In the summer, you'll want to book a place on the northside in Hanalei or Princevile. The beachfront near the hotel is ok, but our favorite local beaches on the South were Baby Beach when the kid's were young and Poipu Beach for snorkeling and tide pools.
The Hyatt also features a children’s
program known as Camp Hyatt. The program includes Hawaiian arts and crafts and lessons about Kauai’s history, archaeology, and ecological preservation. The schedules vary daily but usually include a nature trek along the sand dunes near Shipwreck Beach, a visit with the wildlife manager, kite flying, snorkeling, face painting, and tennis. The program costs about $70 per child, includes lunch, and runs from 9:15 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.; 742–1234. A night camp is also available, as well as half-day camps. Participants get a “Camp Hyatt” T-shirt.
If you happen to be in this area, the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa hosts different cultural demonstrations daily; free even if you’re not a guest at the hotel.
