If you are going to Williamsburg and can't afford the 300 dollar a night room in the fancy homes, this is a good alternative. There is a small pool that got very crowded in the summer but it was a good way to cool the kids off. It is an old hotel but seemed maintained enough. We spent most of the time exploring Williamsburg and did not do much more than sleep here. One evening, we were running late for reservations at one of the Taverns. The hotel called and let them know and when we got there we walked right in to our table without a problem.
This motel-type lodging just outside the historic area is the most economical choice for families. You can leave your car here and take one of Colonial Williamsburg’s shuttle buses into the historic area. Guests at this inn can use the recreational activities at the Williamsburg Woodlands, including children’s activities.
