I've stayed at this hotel many times. A recent renovation helped tidy up a lot of the peeling edges but it simply isn't enough.  The most glaring reason is the lack of elevators to the second floor.  If you have a stroller you want to wheel into the room, reserve the Deluxe room with "private" patio.  There's nothing private about the patio which is just a couple chairs and small table on a concrete slab facing the inner courtyard area where the (well kept) pool and hot tub are located, but it's the only way I've found to assure a 1st floor room.  I have tried simply requesting the 1st floor  ahead of time and at checkin but have never gotten one using this method.  The property is often booked solid for reunions and weddings so they may not be able to change you to a different room if you have a problem.  
The rooms themselves are moderately comfortable.  The bathrooms smell a bit moldy, but are tolerable.  There is no easy way to block off a travel crib from the beds so you have to get creative.  
One thing that sets this hotel apart from most others in the area is a restaurant (therefore room service) and bar.  The breakfast buffet is not worth it's cost, though dinner is of slightly better quality.  The bar has no set closing time, so they'll just close up shop if they don't have any customers.
Unless you are a Starwood loyalist, or are attending a function at the property, you'll find better hotels for the price.
