"Friendly hotel in a town with character"

My husband had a conference to attend in Aiken, so we took the family for a short vacation. I was very impressed with the character of everyone we met, and the staff of the hotel was wonderful. One manager frequented the free breakfast and knew us by name and made us feel right at home. The housekeeper came by during the kids' nap time, so the next day she caught me in the hall before I put the kids down.
The pool is small and only has 3ft - 4.5ft depth, but it's indoors for swimming no matter what the weather. There is also a hot tub which made for a nice relax from the kids.
The hotel has recently had physical upgrades, and it was quite modern in interior design. The shower head was nice and high, the shower itself was large and in good condition. Everything was well-maintained and comfortable and accommodating.
It is close enough that if I need to go to Augusta, GA, I would stay at this Fairfield Inn in Aiken again.
