"Quirky Ambiance, not for kids"
While we felt completely welcome by the staff and other patrons, it was very obvious that we were the only family with any children. The room itself had a great layout for kids, including a mini-fridge, room for a PackNPlay, and all the little one's goodies. FYI, there is not an elevator, so if you have tiny ones with their gear, ask for a first floor room.
However, the tone and ambiance of the hotel are more suited to adults. There was a great wine and cheese hour as well as a complimentary breakfast. There is a gym on grounds as well. The staff was awesome, accommodating, and had great personalities.
The walls are not as thick as one would like, which is really what made me self-conscious as a mother. My little one was not so sure he wanted to sleep that night, and I knew that the other guests were hearing him cry.

"Interesting Place, not Perfect for Kids"
My husband and I enjoy staying at the Masterpiece. It has very nice rooms with fireplaces, as well as interesting artwork throughout the hotel. It's not the best place for kids--the rooms we've had are really best-suited for two for a romantic weekend. We'd recommend the hotel, but it doesn't have a lot of kid action going on.
Location.
This motel is located in Morro Bay. Morro Rock is an area
attraction. Another nearby attraction is Morro Bay State Park.
