"A great hotel in a historic building"
I'm a huge fan of history, particularly Seattle history, so my husband and I jumped at the chance to stay in this hotel. It's located in the heart of downtown Seattle, in a fabulous location for getting to everything. The hotel itself is in the building that used to be a men's club.
The lobby looks like it still is part of the fancy men's club- when you walk in you just want to sink into one of the big chairs and stay. The bar next to the sitting area looked great, but I was pregnant during our stay, so we didn't stop there :)
Our room was a good size with a nice bed with nice linens. We did not have our kids with us, but there would definitely be space in the room for a pack n play or portable crib. The bathroom was gigantic- even had Kiehl's toiletries! (The hotel has been purchased by Doubletree since we stayed there, so some things like the toiletries may have changed). We liked all the historic details on the walls and the bedside tables that look like old luggage.
We had breakfast at the restaurant downstairs and greatly enjoyed the food.
The only minor thing that I didn't like is that the hotel is a little dark, since it is in an old historic building. We did visit during Seattle's dark/rainy time of year, so that probably added to the darkness a bit.
If you're a history buff or want a different type of hotel that's still fancy and pampering, check this one out!
