Everything about the Wilderness Lodge is amazing. It is breaktaking from the moment you pull up until you walk into your room. The lounge in the front is amazing and the fireplace is massive. The pool outside is so fun and the kids love the waterslide. The service of Disney's staff never disappoints. They are very friendly and helpful. There is a gift shop on site so if you forget anything at the parks you are covered. Plus there are restaruants (sit down and counter service) to feed your family. The boat light parade at night is a great treat for kids plus you have a good spot to view the nightly fireworks.
We loved our stay at the Disney's Wilderness Lodge. Everyone was so friendly and accomodating. The housekeepers left washcloth animals being funny everyday. The food and the swimming pool were great. We loved the fairy directly to the Magic Kingdom. We also really like the parade of boats on the beach. It was great!
We love this hotel!!! It is beautiful. There is a boat ferry that takes you over to the Magic Kingdom. The restaurant at the hotel is so much fun. They hand out stick ponies to the kids and they do the pony express around the restaurant. My kids loved this. The pool is wonderful. This hotel is very close to Ft. Wilderness and you can take the shuttle and go to Chip and Dales campfire sing-along and watch a movie. Also you can see the Electrical Parade on the lake behind the hotel. We love this hotel.
Loved Disney's Wilderness Lodge.
I stayed here with my 2 girls for 3 nights and we all loved it. Our room had a queen size bed and a set of bunkbeds which worked out perfectly for us because we all got our own sleeping area!
The bathroom offered a separate vanity area which is great too because one person can be taking a shower while the other is getting ready.
We enjoyed our view of our room too which was of the pool area. We enjoyed the quick service dining option (Roaring forks) at this resort and I even used the gym area to work out!
But the best part of this resort was the short boat ride to Magic Kingdom. We loved that we could be at Magic Kingdom within a matter of minutes!! Great location and family friendly makes this a great Disney resort location!
Extremely nice - great restaurant - very convenient to Magic Kindgom - highly recommended! My children loved the bunk beds - one of the only hotels at Disney that have them - the boat ride to Magic Kingdom was fun. This resort was less expensive than the Floridian, Polynesian and Contemporary - but just as nice and convenient!
There is so much to offer at Disney's Wilderness Lodge in Orlando. The architecture is amazing - you walk in and feel like you are at a national park lodge. In fact, that is what was intended. Disney architects study many famous lodges, including one in Yosemite and Yellowstone, before designing the lodge.
Families will dig the lodge - they have two pools and a hot tub. One pool is specially designed for younger swimmers - its only 3 feet of water and has different levels for kids who would rather stand and splash then lay down. Plenty of room for supervising adults, too. There is also a larger pool, complete with water slide and water fall. Finally, there is a nice, warm hot tub.
But, that's not all. There is also a beach and marina. The beach has volleyball courts and a boat jetty where you can rent a special boat to take you on the lake to watch fireworks. You can also rent a fishing tour - and go catch some fish on the lake.
Inside the lobby are also three restaurants - the quick serve roaring forks - with everything from sandwiches to nachos. Healthy choices abound.
Whispering Canyon Cafe is a sit-down place, which is loads of fun for kids. Waiters play silly cowboys and are good at gearing your level of enthusiasm for antics. At night, they have pony races for the kids and all sorts of shenanigans. Kids will actually eat here and stay at their seats to watch the goings-on.
Artist's Point is an upscale restaurant more geared towards adults. Good fun, adventurous menu. Try the yummy berry cobbler for dessert.
Wilderness Lodge also has a kids' club for kids 4 and up. You can drop the kids off for a night of fun activities and go do something with the grownups! Like shopping!
Finally, the rooms and service are impeccable. Transportation to the parks is very good, with no more than a 15 minute wait for any form of transportation.
This is one of the cheapest of the deluxe resorts since it has no monorail access to the parks. Go in the off season - to have the place to yourself - and enjoy.
