We stayed in the perfect room, right in front of one of the pools. The food court seemed to stay busy at all hours but was still pretty quick in and out. The mugs are definitely worth buying if you are staying more than one night.
It is nice to have the gift shop in the resort so you can find something there and not have to lug souvenirs all over the theme parks.
I would definitely stay again, this resort seems nicer than the All Star Resorts, not sure if that's just because it is newer?
Even though the decades span from the 50s to the 90s, all kids will love this resort. There are giant Potato Heads, Rubics Cubes, Twister Games, Yo Yo's, pools upon pools, and all kinds of arcade games available. The absolute best is Disney Jr. is running on a tv with tables set up in the cafeteria for the kids to eat at. Don't worry, mom and dad are at the table right next to them watching them. There is even a store inside. BUY THE MUG - it's 13.99 right now in 2011 and you can refill it for your whole stay. My husband and I both bought one and both got our money's worth. There's a little playground in the 70s section for kids too. Watch for Lizards though!
Everything at Disney is magical, even down to the way they fold washcloths. POP resort is decked out in different decades and is beautiful. There is a gorgeous pool there as well. Our room was small, but big enough for two people. Every day, we would come back to a very clean room and nice Disney touches all in the room. I distinctly remember the toilet paper and washcloths being folded so neat, I didn't want to use them. Pop Resort is a great place to stay!
When u go to Florida disney land, everyone wants to stay in disneys beautifull resorts rather than hotel/motel.But what stops u is the price. You can still spend less and njoy this disneys pop century resort. The rooms are not that luxurious and great but the ambience is lovely.Disney theme everywhere for kids to njoy.they even have game room for kids like dave n busters.Kids will njoy a lot!.This colorfull resort is kids friendly and they would love it.
With different decades as themes, there was plenty to love and I got to love my favorite decade. On top of that, a beautiful pool, and a very complete cafe with foods of many types within walking distance add to the convenient amenities. The title of this review is a reference to the gift that was left us while we were in the shower of our room. Granted, kind of interesting that they left it there while we were in the shower but still, we were left a balloon bouquet and card for our anniversary from Minnie and Mickey. Plus, we had a message on our voicemail in our room of Mikey and Minnie wishing us a very happy anniversary. We hadn't even said much about it.
If you've never stayed at a Disney resort, you need to. Being on site is completely worth any extra cost- the convenience is wonderful. Pop is a huge resort but nothing is too spread out. It is a glorified motel, but clean and sufficient for sleep after a day at the parks. Love the food court with its many options and the gift shop is great too. We've stayed many times and will go back sure I'm soon.
We stayed on property at DIsney World for the first time this past December and chose Pop Century resort. The good: the atmosphere is wonderful, the huge icons are great, the food court has great food and the shopping is terrific and not even outrageously-priced. The staff is courteous and helpful and our room was wonderful. The bad: the resort is HUGE and requires a lot of walking- however I guess if you're at WDW you're up for a lot of walking. But the hike from our car to our room was a bit much after a long day at the parks. Overall this was a great experience and I think we'll be back next year, only requesting a room a bit closer to the parking lot! Rooms are nice, clean and perfect for spending time in away from the parks- pools are great too!
Disney's Pop Century Resort has recently undergone room renovations with new bedding, carpet and flat screen tvs. This resort is a Disney Value Resort and the newest of the 4 Value Resort on property at Walt Disney World. This is my favorite value resort as I love the decade theming. You can chose to stay in themed buildings from the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. I love that this resort offers dedicated bus service to the theme parks meaning that once you board the bus at Pop Century, you will head to the theme park you intend to visit for the day, the bus will not make any other stops at other resorts! This is a great feature and time saver. The food court here is great too. Each night they offer a themed tv dinner in the old style tv trays that I grew up with (I'm showing my age). I also enjoyed the tie dye cheesecake! The pools at Pop Century are great too although there is no waterslide, there are 3 different themed pools to enjoy!!
If you are strapped for cash and want to stay at a Disney Resort, this is a great economical one.
Enjoy all the characters and the different scenes of Be Bop to Rock & Roll Era..
Very bright and colorful, it was nice and clean and the pools were amazing.
Giant sized Disney Characters overlooked each pool and it was just nice.
You just have to check it out, there is soo much to tell.
My family and I stayed at Pop Century in June 2008. This was our first visit to Walt Disney World. The Cast Member at check-in was very nice and helpful. Our room was very clean. When we arrived we requested extra towels and housekeeping brought them quickly. We were in the 60s section, Building 4. This was a nice location. We didn't have a pool view but it was nice and quiet. Plus, it was a short walk to the Hippy Dippy Pool and the Food Court.
The Food Court has lots of selections and the food is good. The gift shop is huge and also offers alot of varierty.
The themeing for this resort is fantastic! If you're budget conscious this is the place to be! They don't have suites so I wouldn't recommend it for a large family.
At disney you don't spend enough time in your room 2 warrant shelling out the big bucks for the nicer resorts. You get all the disney perks at a cheaper price. It is like a basic hotel room. The pools are nice and the cafeteria like restaurant is actually not too bad either.
Pop Century Resort at Walt Disney World is a great place to stay while visiting the Mouse. Staying on property has so many advantages and for the price Pop Century can't be beat. Great themes, clean rooms, multiple pools and everything is within walking distance.
I chose Pop Century resort because there are 5 of us (three adults) and two children and we wanted two rooms. It was cheaper for us to book two adjoining rooms at Pop than stay in one room at a moderate or deluxe. AND we get two bathrooms! Needless to say I was VERY impressed with Pop. This hotel is really eye catching and great fun for children (and that is what it is about - seeing your children happy!). The rooms did not feel that small and again - two bathrooms. We left the door adjoining the rooms open and it was almost like a suite! (sort-of). The rooms were clean, mousekeeping efficient, the pool areas were very nice and well watched by life guards. The children's pool area was zero entry and all had fun. The food court had great selections, plenty of seating, and short waits. I had always stayed at moderate or deluxe resrots before and even so, I was VERY happy with Pop. Price was right and this is a cute place to stay. I will stay here again. Oh yes, if you want stay in a quiet room, you may want to face the parking lot. Any room facing the main pool will be subject to children at play. But overall, I did not find the resort to be noisy! Remember, it is not an upscale resort, but it is the perfect fit for family fun and an all around nice place to stay. I gave this resort five stars because the fun and family friendliness supercedes the price (excellent value)!!
