"Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village"

An amazing place to stay while in Disney!  These rooms are African styled and make you feel like you  have just entered the plains of Africa.  All of the rooms come fully equipped with a kitchenette and are set up suite style so that you have multiple rooms and bathrooms.  When wandering the grounds of the resort there are multiple locations to view the wildlife that surrounds you, and it’s easy to feel as if you really are in Africa.  My kids (ages six and under) LOVE this hotel, and we will likely stay here again during our next trip to Disney World!

"One of my faves"

We love this resort. You can't beat an African Savannah in your backyard! It is a little bit set apart from the rest of Disney but I like that aspect. The food at Jiko is incredible and Boma is great too though picky eaters may not like some of the flavors. Do breakfast- it's wonderful for even the tamest taste buds. Rooms are clean and the design and theming is just wonderful. We really love it here.

"Savanna View Room worth the price! "

We stayed here for my daughters 16th birthday this past summer.  From the moment we arrived, I knew this was going to be a great experience.  The lodge is so warm and inviting and truly decorated with African flavor. Many of the employees are from Africa as well which really lends to the authenticity of this resort.

Our room was located on the 2nd floor as far away as possible from the lobby but this didn't bother us at all because it made for a quiet location in the resort.  We had reserved a Savanna View Room which made for the entire experience. Our room was good sized with 2 queen beds, a separate vanity area from the bathroom and a fridge in the room.  We also enjoyed the flat screen tv and there was plenty of closet/storage space.  But the best part was our view!!  We walked out onto our balcony and directly in front of us was giraffes, zebras, gazelles and other safari animals grazing away.  This made for great pictures.

We enjoyed the fast food restaurant at the resort, Mara. Try the zebra dome cakes, they were really good and we enjoyed them throughout our stay because we could store them in our fridge in our room.

We also really enjoyed Boma. This restaurant is a buffet that serves breakfast and dinner only. We had a reservation for dinner and it was delicious.  My daughter is a picky eater and she loved everything, she even said it was her favorite meal of the vacation.

The pool area at this resort is huge and we loved every minute of it. I ordered a drink from the pool bar and enjoyed our time lounging by the pool.

If you plan to stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, I do recommend that you splurge a bit and upgrade to a Savanna view room.  It is so worth the extra money!

"Really Nice Hotel"

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is a great hotel for kids.  They have a really nice pool area with a water slide and kiddie pool which is right next to a quick service restaurant.  So you can hop out of the pool, dry off and go get lunch or a snack.  There's also a really nice playground near the pool.  And obviously, there's the animals to look at.  It's so nice to wake up in the morning and go out on your balcony and see what the zebras and giraffes are doing.  The restaurants are African themed, and the food has an African influence.  We were a little apprehensive about this, especially with the kids, but all of the food was really good, and all of the restaurants have kid menus with things like chicken fingers, french fries, and mac & cheese.  My only negative thing about this hotel is that it's really far away from the Magic Kingdom, so you have to take a bus, which is about a half hour.  And the buses can be crowded at different times of the day, so carrying a two year old while standing on a bus is not fun!

"nice hotel"

I would definitely recommend the Disney Animal Kingdom Lodge and Villas to anyone that I know is going to be taking a trip to Florida. The art deco themes in the resort along with the African sculptures are beautiful and you get an unreal view of the park and animals from the lodge. I have no regrets from staying here at all.

"Teens and Tweens love critters too"

The Animal Kingdom lodge features a towering lobby filled with African art works.  It is surrounded by several savannahs that are home to a range of African animals.  Book a savannah view room and wake up to giraffes outside your window.  The Lodge has rooms with bunkbeds as well as villas with kitchens and multiple rooms.

Teens and tweens love a chance to do things on their own.  Ours enjoyed roaming the grounds and checking out all the critters.

"Long, Long Way from Mecca"

Don't get me wrong, the hotel itself is amazing.  From the enormous, tribal decked out lobby, to the super cool rooms with bunk beds over looking the "Sahara" with zebras and giraffes.  But, and this is a big but, when you are trying to get to the Magic Kingdom and back, be prepared to wait.  The bus ride is 20 minutes.  If you don't catch the shuttle right at the moment you walk out to the platform, tack on an extra 20-30 minutes - EACH WAY.  Keep that in mind while you are hearing this "Mommy, where is Cinderella?" "Mommy, when are we going to meet Buzz Lightyear?! "Mommy, Mommy, Mommy". I think you know what I mean.

This resort is one of the farthest ones out from the Disney Epi-center.  Just put your travel time in perspective to the patience of your children.

Also we found that once we were done with the park for the day there was no going back to the hotel to rest, swim and then go back again for evening activities at one of the parks (ie - parades, fireworks).  I was not about to endure another round of at least an hour+ round trip bus ride with tired kids.

"It was amazing"

I took my family there, a 1 year old and a 6 year old and we loved it! The animals, food, and surroundings are amazing. We love the resturant Boma. So much in fact we went there for dinner 3 days in a row! I would request a room with a balcony, It was so nice getting up in the morning making breakfast and bringing it out on the balcony to watch the animals. Tip: the animal come out for breakfast in the morning! It is so fun for the kids to watch them get fed.

"I Loved it here!"

The Animal Kingdom hotel in Orlando,Fl is great! I loved being able to see animals right from our hotel balcony. Although my husband seems to always book our annual vacay during hurricane season I enjoyed it.  The gift  shop is great, also. I think the kids had fun too!

"Beyond Fantastic"

We are a family of 5 (our kids are 7, 5, and almost 2), and had such a fantastic experience at Animal Kingdom Lodge, we just had to share!  We stayed in a 2 BR villa -- full kitchen, washer and dryer, two full bedrooms and a pull out couch in the living area.  The furnishings were beautiful, the service was fantastic, and the surroundings...well, they were spectacular.  Animals roam freely on the resort's perimeter, there are a myriad of activities for kids -- we did a ton and still didn't even put a dent in it.  Nature hunts, crafts, cookie decorating, night vision goggle observation of the animals, fireside storytelling, it goes on and on.
We've stayed at Disney resorts before, and we love them all, but this one is over the top fantastic for kids.  I would highly recommend it!
