"Despite convenience, not a pleasant night of sleep..."

With gas prices so high, I was excited to stay here as a cheap alternative to making two trips to the San Diego area to visit Legoland & Sea World.  
And I did spend just about the same amount as the tank of gas it would have cost me to drive to and from two times, BUT that was about the extent of my enjoyment of this hotel.
In all fairness, the hotel is 2 star rated, so I am not sure what I was expecting.  It did attempt to be helpful to the budget traveler.  There was free AT&T wifi (which is awesome), free parking and a pretty good continental breakfast, which saved us from an early morning fast food run before entering a park.
It was however, VERY LOUD the entire night.  We could hear every activity of it seemed everyone in the place, which does not provide for very restful sleep.  We turned on the radio around 1am to try to drown out passer-bys, other guests, and the sounds of cars driving by the entire night.  I had to unplug the otherwise convenient mini-fridge and microwave due to a horrible click and humming sound that was coming from both.   Keep in mind, I am a very heavy sleeper!  The bed was not very comfortable, and of course was dressed up in not so soft sheets and a musty bedspread that I tried desperately to get my kiddos off of at all moments.
The worst of our stay was the front desk;  the employee there was definitely not helpful and bordered on disrespectful and rude.  He gave us a room with one queen sized bed and after we requested two beds, gave us a room with someone else in it (who was a very upset and angry older and intimidating man!!)  It was horrible standing there, three babies in tow, having a man yell at you that we are trying to break into his room!  
Thankfully, he took note of our children and did not get even more upset.  The front desk said we "went to the wrong room and that we can't follow directions!"  It was crazy.  
I would only recommend staying here if you absolutely cannot afford anywhere else.
