"Affordable Elegance"
During a recent visit to Washington, DC our family was in need of a different hotel at the last minute. We chose to try this one and we were delighted with the results. Firstly, the concierge was amazingly helpful. We had just checked out of a terrible hotel, and we were not in the best of moods. He listened to our story and after hearing our problem, tried to get us a refund from the other hotel by calling them and explaining our issues. When that didn’t work, he immediately put us at ease and found us a room that was perfect for our needs. He booked it at a discount, giving us the price usually offered to rewards members who book online instead of the price offered at the desk (a price that was also very reasonable, by the way). Upon hearing that we would be staying down the hall from our other family members who were also visiting the area, he dropped even more from the price. In addition to wonderful customer service, the hotel had other amenities of which we took full advantage. Their indoor pool was lovely and the kids really enjoyed splashing around. My husband and I relaxed in their modern, yet cozy lounge with Starbucks coffee made by the concierge at their in-house café. The coffee bar is open 24 hours a day and they make a great mocha. At other hours, they are open for breakfast and dinner, offering a variety of quick but tasty foods. They also have a 24 hour store offering conveniences such as sodas, beers, ice cream and much more. The room was plush and roomy, with clean, sumptuous linens and a nice-sized bathroom. The air conditioning was icy cold, the Wi-Fi fast and reliable and we got a great night sleep. I heartily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Alexandria/DC area.

Geospatial Intelligence Agency and Hilltop Golf Club. Other area
points of interest include Green Spring Gardens Park and Landmark
Mall.

completed in June 2010.
