The evening BBQ at Pine House is fantastic- Grilled items such as hot dogs, hamburgers, and chicken are paired with your choice of a dellcious baby greens salad or red new potato salad. Both are fantastic. Beer on tap is tasty. After collecting your food from the grill, you can set at one of the picnic tables and listen to live music on Saturday evenings. The dinner is cash or room charge only- no credit cards. If you forget your cash, there is an ATM in the hotel lobby.
Before dinner, you can go horse back riding (1.5 hour trail rides are $80 for kids 7+), walk to the beach, swing on the hammocks, or play on the playground.
The tent cabins themselves are quite small and not necessarily private. There are a few that stand well apart from the others- ask when booking if you don't want to be in the middle of things.
Love the tent bungalows....and the electric blankets! I'll never pitch a tent again. great hiking, my 7 and 10 yr olds loved biking all day too. the hike to the beach is about a mile, easy. wear layers, gets chilly when the fog rolls in. the pancake breakfasts and barbeque were cool so we didn't need to pack a big cooler. Great price, easy and beautiful drive down Hwy 1, only hr out of the City. Totally easy no-fuss camping weekend.
