"Meets your basic hotel needs"
We stayed at this hotel out of necessity. We had gone to a Penn State football game and all hotels in the State College area were full. This was about a half-an-hour from State College.
As far as commuting to Penn state, it was great. It was quiet and uncrowded in Clearfield and the accommodations were fine for one night. I don't think I would make this a destination on any trip or anything, but it is fine for one night. Our basic needs were met and the price was affordable.
Just so you know, there is nothing to do in Clearfield, so don't get excited about the town. Stay here if you are in the area and need a hotel room for the night. I think a family staying here for additional days would be extremely bored unless they had an agenda or family in the area. No frills here either, but good for the basics...
