"Beautiful Beach! Great Family Destination!"

This was our family's first official vacation with our 8 month old son. We tagged along on my sister-in-law's annual spring break trip to Gulf Shores, AL this past spring break. We stayed at the Beach Club in a one bedroom condo in the Catalina building, you can rent from Meyer real estate, the Beach Club direct or private owners.

Our condo was owned by a family from TN, it was very clean and we had a beautiful ocean view - what a fantastic sight to wake up to every morning!

Everything about the Beach Club is top notch. The pools were always fun and not too crowded, the beach was just steps from our building, the main restaurant and game room were just a short walk away. The shuttle service was very convenient to get to the small grocery store and another restaurant, ice cream shop and a very nice little boutique. I bought 4 great dresses during our visit!

We went during spring break, which was much less crowded however not all the ammenities were available to us and the shops closed at 5pm and the grocery and restaurant closed at 8pm. Summer time seems to be peak season down there and the shops are open til 11pm or midnight.

My son was only 8 months, but my nieces and nephews who were with us are 8, 6, 4 and 2, had a blast!!! There was plenty of grassy areas to play on, they spent hours exploring the beach and we always loved walking down to the ice cream shop at the end of the day for a treat. And of course plenty of other children for them to meet and play with.

There is a Wal-mart near by and plenty of restaurants if you leave the property, all within a 10-20 minute drive. There is also a great outlet mall, mini-golf and go-kart tracks to spend a rainy day at, like we did.

We can't wait to go back next year!
