"Bahia Resort"
We stayed here in February 2010 for two nights.
Our room was upgraded at no cost, and while the hotel is a little outdated, the necessary renovations have been made to keep it comfortable. There was no hassle asking for an extra night and we felt the price (which included 3-day Seaworld tickets) more than reasonable.
We had an Ocean view room, One king size bed for us and our DS slept on the fold-out bed (queen size) and loved it. We had our own kitchenette area and a decent dining area.
The staff came right away when called and were helpful with our requests. Our DS (3.5) loved the seals in the special pool they call home, and the beautiful garden area out front. There was an area to walk near the ocean (bay) and tennis courts which our DS loved running on.
The pool was clean and had very few people there.
We chose the Bahia because of its proximity to Seaworld, it is a 3 minute drive away, if at that. This made it easy to take a break for lunch and naptime and then return to Seaworld later in the day.
They were helpful with directions and made it very easy to get around San Diego.
We would certainly come back and choose another attraction as the basis of our Bahia package.
