For a $100 room, my experience was quite expected and unfortunately, quite sad. The hotel seems nice from the outside but it's really old fashioned and outdated inside. The staff is nice though, we were greeted by a man with complementary champagne which was quite nice. The kids didn't really like the experience because our TV had only 4 channels on it. News channels. So yes, it's not that suited for kids. The room was ok, a bit small for 4 people, but manageable. The bathroom though was really filthy. The food in the restaurant was pretty nice, much nicer than I expected. Overall, the experience was ok, but don't expect to enjoy it.
This was one of the worst places we've been to. It's just bad. Service - bad, food - mediocre, people - bad, decor - very bad, atmosphere - gahh, awful.
The food was alright, nothing special, about as you can expect from a place like this. We requested a non-smoking room (because of the kids) but the one we stayed in felt very smokey. It swear, someone was in there, smoking. We asked for a different room but the staff wouldn't do anything about it. They said they'll change our rooms at additional cost. The rooms are small, outdated and boring. The TV had 2 channels on it so the kids were quite bored. The walls were old, dark and made us feel miserable!
I can't go further, just thinking about this place makes me sad. Bottom line, I do NOT recommend this to anyone! You can only go here if every single hotel besides this one is booked.
We stayed at the Anaheim Plaza a few years ago and after the first night I walked up & down Harbor Blvd and checked every other hotel for vacancies. (Unfortunately, there was a convention, so I was out of luck!)
After traveling across the country, I thought a dip in the hot tub would feel relaxing. The area was covered in caution tape, and the water was green and the tub was filled with leaves.
My 2nd choice was to take a hot bubble bath. No luck there, either, b/c there was no hot water.
I wanted to watch tv before falling asleep to relax & the tv only got reception on 2 channels. Neither one had anything showing I wanted to watch.
The room was very stuffy & smelled like mildew.
There was a nice patio, though!
we stayed here on a quick trip in the summer--cheap, very close to Disney, but very stuffy/humid in the rooms. The floors were filthy--WEAR SHOES!! The pool was the best part--huge lap pool! we only paid about $40 a night, so, still worth it, considering we were at Disney most of the time anyway. we watched the fireworks show from our room one night :)
Years ago when my husband I I were first married this was the go to hotel. It was cheap and always available. Back then it was pretty run down. Since then the Anaheim area near the Disneyland Resort underwent a renovation. This hotel did not. The last time we stayed the room was not very clean and the a/c unit was ancient. There are many other options in the area. I would rather stay a little further away and take the shuttle to Disneyland than stay here.
