"You will never want to go home"

When my family travels, there are places that just warm my heart. Alta Ranch is one of those places.  It's like drinking a cup of coffee in front of a crackling fire while watching my 3 kiddos get along...and smiling...after they have each given me a big hug and kiss.

Alta Ranch ranch offers several guest cabins that you can rent.  The cabins are fully stocked with all the dishes and linens that you need.  But be sure to bring plenty of food because you will not want to leave, and small town civilization is actually tucked several miles away.  As long as you bring enough food, you will have no worries.  You'll just be having too much fun on the ranch.

My kiddos favorite amenity was the stocked trout pond where you can fish without a Montana fishing license.  Here, the ranch offers small boats and safety vests to be used at your leisure.   My 10 year old and I both caught/released 8lb Rainbow trout!  But be sure to bring heavy fishing line.  My husband fly fished the creek that ran through the property and we spotted several white tail deer and moose in the pasture in the center of the ranch.  After a day of fishing and playing outdoors we spent evenings either sitting around the campfire or playing pool at the activity center.  

The hosts/owners of the ranch are some of the nicest people you will ever meet.  Not only did they come over with their grandchildren, asking if our kids would like to practice some archery; but they even upgraded us to the huge 5000 sq ft cabin for only $25 more per night.  We felt absolutely spoiled and never wanted to return home.

I hate even writing a review about this place because it is one of those wonderful places that you consider just keeping a secret because it is so great!  If peace, serenity and family time is what you need - Alta Ranch is the place to go.
