My husband, my daughter and I stayed at the Admiral Motel for two nights during our recent trip to Lake George. The motel is located on Canada Street, which is a great location as we were able to walk to many of the attractions right on the main strip- arcades, souvenir shops, candy stores, and more.
The Motel itself was very clean and private, with a pool and one parking space per room rental. The motel consists of two levels, and our room was on the upper level. Each room has a large window, and outdoor seating. We stayed in a standard room, which was carpeted and included two double-size beds, a bathroom with a bathtub and separate sink area, a sitting area, a television, a refrigerator and an air-conditioning unit. The room also had an alarm clock and a telephone which you could use to make free local calls. An information binder was also in the room that had great resources, including places to eat and attractions to visit.
The Motel’s office also houses an art gallery with some beautiful work from the local talent, as well as a microwave. Besides access to wireless internet, the Motel also hosts complimentary morning coffee and tea on their porch which overlooks the pool.
The swimming pool was well-maintained, private. and included towel-service which we appreciated greatly, as the towels we had brought were still damp from an earlier visit to a water park.
We had but one small issue: when housekeeping comes through they open the shades and unlock and open the windows. I do not care for this, as it makes my belongings easily accessible to anybody who looks through the window . A simple solution would be to request housekeeping to not open shades and windows if you are staying more than one night.
Despite the housekeeping issue, we had a wonderful stay at this motel, and recommend it to anybody who is looking to stay in lodgings that are close to everything yet feel private and are clean. We plan on using this Motel again for our next visit.
