320 Ranch a plan your own vacation type of ranch. Unlike the typical dude ranch where all-inclusive stays are the norm, at 320 Ranch, you have total flexibility. Stay a day or week. Eat one dinner or every meal at the dining room. Horseback ride everyday or just once. It’s up to the guest to decide what elements of the ranch experience they want to enjoy. You pay as you go.
CABINS ARE GREAT FOR FAMILIES
There are a few different cabin styles. We stayed at the riverside cabins that were on the banks for the beautiful Gallatin River. From our cute little log cabin, we could hear the sound of the rushing river. But I was glad we were about 100 feet from the edge of the river so the kids wouldn’t be tempted to run off into the river without my watchful eye. Although the cabins aren't luxurious, they aren't rustic either. They also definitely had way more character than a motel. Our two-bedroom cabin had really comfortable beds that I wanted to sleep in forever. The living room was also fairly spacious and had a fireplace and TV. The small kitchenette was equipped with the basics and is a great option for families wanting to save on meals to fund fun experiences. All in all, 320 Ranch’s cabins get my two thumbs up for family-friendly.
BEAUTIFUL SETTING AND LOTS OF SPACE FOR KIDS TO ROAM
The setting of 320 Ranch right next to the Gallatin River is picture perfect. Best of all, there is so much room for kids to spread out and run around freely. Unlike staying in one of the ski resorts where you are packed in with the crowds of other skiers during the winter months, at 320, you'll be able drive right up to cabin and enjoy running around the property.
One of things I didn't like so much about 320 was that it doesn’t have that same intimate feeling that other dude ranches embody. The property is quite spread out and since guests plan their own itinerary, there isn't that same sense of camaraderie to establish with your fellow guests. The one time we got to see everyone staying at 320 was at breakfast - the one meal that’s included in the price of your stay.
PICK AND CHOOSE YOUR DUDE RANCH ACTIVITIES
At 320 Ranch, guest pick and choose which activities and experiences they would like to participate in. The ranch will arrange horseback riding, fly fishing, rafting trips, day trips into Yellowstone park, mountain biking, spa and golf trips to Big Sky Resort, hayrides, and chuck wagon dinners. If you’re not ready to commit more than several thousand dollars for an all inclusive week long dude ranch vacation for your family, this great place to get a taste of the dude ranch experience. Best of all your can pair up a few days at 320 with a few days in Yellowstone Park for a variety of experiences.
AFFORDABLE LODGING OPTION FOR THE WINTER
320 Ranch's peak season is reverse of the Sky Resorts. The fall and spring offers the lowest rates, which makes 320 Ranch a great option for families looking for a bargain on great family-friendly accommodation for their ski vacation. 320 offers complimentary shuttle service to Big Sky where the Big Sky shuttle provides free transportation.
*Disclosure: I received a complimentary stay at 320 Guest Ranch and Resort as part of media trip. However, my opinions are entirely my own and was not influenced by the ranch staff.
