A particular highlight of the Asian Forest is Giant Panda Conservation Center. There's a special children's zoo and an indoor playspace for kids.

"Fun trip - if you can find a deal!"

We got to visit Zoo Atlanta for free using our public library's Zoo Pass.  We planned to spend all day (like I always did growing up in Cleveland), but were shocked to realize just how small the zoo was!

While we had a great time and got to see lots of cute baby animals (especially gorillas), I would have been really disappointed if we had paid the pricey admission fee for only 2+ hours of fun.

It's a very family-friendly atmosphere and if you have small kids and strollers, this smaller zoo might actually be best for a day out.  No dealing with melt-downs and exhaustion.

"Only if you have very young kids... "

A small zoo - we would have felt we had wasted our whole time had it not been included in our CityPass - the only thing that saved the day was 2 baby tigers who attacked each other like kittens and were so fun to watch, and a baby panda (although we caught it at nap time).   Everyone is very nice and we visited in January on a 50 degree day so it may be different in warmer weather - but a lot of the animals just weren't on "display".  My kids were too old for the petting zoo & rides.  Lots of kids having melt downs and a few parents too (always lovely to experience!).

"Awesome Urban Zoo"

We love the Atlanta zoo.  We have been on several occasions.  My daughter's favorite section, by far, is the parakeet exhibit.  She spent over an hour there, feeding the parakeets and interacting with them.  We were able to get some amazing photos and she hasn't stopped talking about that particular occasion.  I would highly recommend visiting the zoo, because it is great!

"Good zoo, as zoos go"

I had to give this place 2 stars because it had both good parts and completely dismal parts.  The kids liked watching the animals pretty much across the board.  It's real animals, moving around, eating, licking themselves, flying, etc what's not to like?  Our boys especially liked the playground area right next to the picnic tables.  But you can get that anywhere in Atlanta for free.

My problem, the "dismal" part of the place, was the gorilla house.  I'm sure the creators of the habitat tried their best to imitate a natural setting - but maybe there's no such thing.  The behavior of the animals was very disturbing to me, even if the kids didn't notice it.  One animal appeared to be listlessly sticking its finger in poop and licking it off.  Another sat hunched over staring into space the entire time we were there (probably a good 20 minutes.)  It was really upsetting to me and I was sorry that I had paid money to extend this misery for the gorillas.  Maybe we shouldn't shut off intelligent beings from their natural habitat like that, you think?

Anyway, I'm not trying to be political here.  I'm just saying that the gorilla habitat ruined the trip for me.  If you have sensitive, observant children, it might do the same for them.

"Great Fun"

I've been going here since I was a kid and have always enjoyed it. Personally, I think the price is a little high, but once you get over that, you will enjoy a day with the animals. Lots to see. Sometimes it's hard to see the animals because their cages resemble their natural habitats. Which is great for them, but sad for us. Luckily there is a lot to see, so what you can't see at one exhibit, you can see at another.

"definitely a must see!"

Absolutely love this zoo. Which says something, because typically our family isn't a zoo family! I know you'll love it. Plus, they got in the pandas a few years ago & those are fun to see. Definitely make a trip! Just don't go in July- its burning up then there!

"Atlanta Zoo"

We went to the zoo last Spring for the first time. We loved it! There were plenty of animals to see. I loved the fact that there were trees to keep us cool. The price was right. The kids loved the Panda and the playground. The staff there was very friendly and helpful.

"Nice zoo"

We've been to Zoo Atlanta 2 times in 2 years. It's nice, not confusing. My main complaint is the location of the restrooms. You don't know when the little ones need to use the restroom and we had to walk quite a bit before we found one. Another complaint is the train ride. Its very short and doesn't go around the zoo. The major attraction for me is the pandas. I've never seen them in person and I fell in love with them the first time I saw them. Everyone including myself had a great day.

"Once a Month Visit for us"

My 4 year old loves this Zoo so much, we have a pass. If you live in Atlanta or visit often, the pass is a great deal for the price. My son adores the Panda attraction, as well as the Orangutan one. During Halloween and Christmas they have special events, which we also enjoy. I feel lucky and proud to have such an amazing Zoo right in my hometown.

"Great Zoo!"

We really enjoyed Zoo Atlanta.  It's actually very close to where my best friend lives in Atlanta.  We have been there several times with our children.  The girls loved walking around and looking at the animals.  The cages were kept very clean and the atmosphere was good.  Good people and also, suprisingly, good food.  The food was a little overpriced, but it usually is at the Zoo.  There was a childrens playground that our daughter really enjoyed while visiting.  It was great for us, as adults, as well.  We have enjoyed it each time we have been.

"What a great zoo!"

I love the Atlanta zoo, it has so much for kids to do, and I love all the animal exhibits it has. It is really well kept, and very clean, and I love all the rides and playgrounds they have for the kids. I like the indoor and outdoor exhibits. They also opened up a new indoor "Gecko" exhibit, and it is extremely well done. One the of the best zoos to visit!

"Great place for kids"

We had an annual pass to Zoo Atlanta last year, and we really enjoyed using it.  We have two small children, and while they don't yet notice the animals other than in the petting zoo, we find it a great way to get outside and be active.  The kids love the playgrounds and climbing on the gorilla statues.  There is a nice area to bring your own picnic (and make sure you do, because there food is not so great, and way expensive).

"Annual Pass is a great deal"

Lots of animals, a  train ride, carousel, petting zoo, snd palyground are among the many things to enjoy at the Atlanta zoo. The free parking is a breeze with close, easy park access.  Just a few visits pay for the annual pass which covers multiple children and adults depending on your type of pass.  We usually eat before or pack a lunch as the food is not great at the zoo itself.  However, there are lots of picnic spots throughout the park to stop and eat.  The pandas are the highlight.

"We love this zoo!"

We've been to several zoos before, but we really love this one for visiting with our kids.  There are so many animals to see and even touch with several cute animals at the petting zoo.  Our favorite part is their pandas.  You can see them really close!  My kids also love their train ride and carousel.  I recommend to visit!!

"Atlanta Zoo"

The Zoo has some good exhibits. Some of them aren't laid out well, making it hard to see the animals. Don't go in the dead of summer...most animals are hiding to get out of the sun. The petting zoo for the kiddos is fun. They've been renovating it, so expect some displays to be temporarily closed. Food, drinks, etc are OUTRAGEOUSLY expensive. The train ride is fun for kids, but you can walk the zoo and see the same things.

"The trip to zoo atlanta"

Hello my and my family went to zoo Atlanta for the first time this summer my children were four and twelve. The experience was a good one not great we really wanted to see the pandas the most, we had to walk for a while to reach them and although there were signs posted in most places, there could have been more. The kids enjoyed the petting zoo and riding the train although the train ride was very slow and just lasted about two minutes then it was over. I really enjoyed seeing the gorillas interacting with each other, like they were in the wild I do believe they think they are and it was a pleasant surprise to see that they had plenty of space to wonder around over all I would recommend the trip for children of different ages such as mine but for the money it should have had more animals to see.

"Best Place to Go!"

We absolutely LOVE going to Zoo Atlanta.  Everyone in the family enjoys it from my husband and I to the 17 month old.  The zoo is always well kept and it's awesome to see animals that you don't get to see in other zoos such as the panda exhibit.  We would recommend it to others and can't wait to go back!

"A Good Time had by all"

My children (3 years & 5 years) love the Zoo.  It is small enough that we can walk without wearing out the children.  The exhibits are interesting and there is a kid area with a playground and petting zoo.  When everyone gets worn out take a ride on the train.
