View several films on the giant screen: "Zion: Treasures of the gods", "Tornado Alley", or a full-length movie. Call for showtimes.
Our family loves this movie theater! I love that it plays Hollywood movies, as well as educational movies, some of which are about the park itself. It is a giant screen which makes watching the movie that much more fun. We really look forward to seeing which Hollywood films are coming out so we can plan an outing to Springdale. The prices are comperable, and I like that is so near the park. :)
We watched the 40 minute feature called "Zion Canyon: Treasure of the gods" on our recent trip to Zion. All 4 of our kids sat in the large theater with us while we watched it on the very-large screen. It was a dramatic movie with swooping angles over Zion that made you feel like you were flying. We loved learning more about the canyon in this dramatic way, but the most thrilling part was watching the female rock-climber who was scaling a cliff and deftly maneuvered the horizontal section. It was very dramatic as she.... well I can't give it away! Needless to say, it was a scene we will never forget.
The theme of the movie was not something we really enjoyed or agreed with, as it dealt with the origins of the earth, spirit gods and hauntings by spirit gods. Despite this, it was interesting to see Native Americans in their homes, in their interactions with Zion Canyon and the history of the people discovering Zion. Be aware that there is some minor violence, a falling priest who dies (with blood on his head), and a skeleton.
