State of the art locker rooms and training facilities, stunning city backgrounds, and the magnificent sight of green grass and detailed diamonds are ideal for filming commercials, television shows, movies, and music videos. Baseball movies such as Mr. 3000, Major League, Angels in the Outfield, Little Big League, Rookie of the Year, and The Pride of the Yankees have all been filmed in the friendly confines of major league ballparks. Other non-baseball themed movies such as The Breakup, Fever Pitch and Naked Gun have used stadiums for filming as well, just to name a few.
Say what you want about the Cubbies, we fans know that Wrigley lures you in and keeps you there! This park is so beautiful, always clean, and easily navigated. The food is great and the fans are the best! Like any ball game, don't expect young kids to make it through the whole thing, but go with flexibility (and a lot of sunscreen) and you'll all have a great time!
There is no better place to spend a summer afternoon. If you would like to show your kids how ballparks used to be please take them here. The tradition of the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley is matched by no other club. Don't think you have to sit in the bleachers to have fun but if you do, wear sunscreen. Upper deck seats are amazing as well. Great view of the city.
I cannot say enough positive things about experiencing a game at Wrigley Field! For the true Cubs fan, you could enjoy a Cubs game REGARDLESS of your surroundings – but the thing is, Wrigley Field is SO AMAZING that it makes any Cubs game that much better. The stadium is always kept exceptionally clean, there are clear directions and employees stationed EVERYWHERE to help you find your seats. The hot dogs and bratwursts are legendary, and the entire atmosphere is very family friendly. Our family has made it a tradition to travel to Chicago and experience at least one game as a family each summer, and it is one of THE most anticipated trips we take each year! Let’s Go Cubs!
Being from Chicago, I am very proud of Wrigley Field. What a history! Kids will love going here...singing "Take Me Out to The Ball Game", eating popcorn, drinking soda....every kid's dream! This is an experience a child will never forget. A trip to Wrigley is recommended for kids over 4 I would say. Any younger and the noise would just irritate them.
So far i went to wrigley field twice. Both times loved it. First i went from school second i went from work group. It was great. We loved catching the ball. We loved it when we came in the tv. It was the best thing ever. We loved the food and drinks that were sold there. Restrooms weren't too dirty either.
The field is ok just I dont see how anyone can stand to goto this place when its a bank collector and pretty much everyone just sits to eat and drink most of the game away I think its alittle boring for all ages and not a family event unless you would die with out the teams . Just save your $$ and have a day at home ,
for a game, most kids would love it. We went on the tour and older kids will appreciate the tour, but younger kids just won't care about where the players dress or that the sign is the wooden original... If you have a baseball fan, its a great experience!
If you can get tickets you should go. An excellent place in a great neighborhood. Visitors to Chicago should make this a must see. A cubs game at Wrigley is the defining Chicago experience.
Even if a person is not a baseball fan, Wrigley's magic will win them over.
Love this place! We're hoping to visit again soon.
you don't have to buy a seat until they are 3 yr old. we have been bringing out daughter to games since she was 6 months old. the whole experience is fun for kids. you can bring a small umbrella stroller and either check it or store under your seat. if you are up for an adventure park north of wrigley for free and take the L a couple stops south (red line) right to the field for an adventure on the train as well.
Had a good time, though it wasn't as life affirming/altering as I had overly worked myself up to believe. The tickets were very expensive, however the stadium seating is very close to the field and intimate in proximity to the players on field. Concession stands are plentiful and fast; there are also still beer vendors in the seats(my hubby loved that!). There are plenty of restaurants and bars right outside the stadium! Wrigley is a good time, just don't set unrealistic expectations. We went with some family that lives in Chicago and the grandmas stayed home with all the kiddos it was a great night out!
I've been to other fields around the country and while others are more "fun," so to speak - with rides, games, even waterslides - nothing beats the ambience of Wrigley Field on a hot summer day. Baseball is a game where you go to sit back and watch the game while downing a hot dog and a cold soda....if you want waterslides or rides, go to Six Flags. True baseball fans will appreciate the overall atmosphere at Wrigley, one of the few venues where you can find TRUE team fans - not those fair-weather fans that seem to plague most teams.
Ah, you can’t beat fun at the old ballpark. . . . Your visit to the North Side wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Wrigley Field. Although there are some shops and restaurants nearby, Wrigley Field is basically in the middle of a residential neighborhood and has no public parking lot of its own. If you drive, you’ll crawl through dense traffic and be at the mercy of the local entrepreneurs who operate little lot-size parking lots.
Ok, I admit it, we are Cub's fans so we may be biased, but this is a great ballpark to visit. It is in the middle of Chicago and thus getting to it and parking are not the easiest, nor cheapest to park. But, once you are there it is a great place to see a game. From the old-fashioned score board, to the rooftop fans, to the singing of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," can't be beat. Definately go early or stay late to eat and get a feel for Wrigleyville, the neighborhood around the park. Even if the Cubs are doing so well, it will be busy so make sure you have tickets or there are some available before you go.
