"Iffy"

Worlds Fair Park can go either way.  Many great activities are held each year in the park which can be great either for families or individuals, depending.  On a given day, with nice weather, the park is full of children playing on the new playground, college students studying, and many other lounging or passing through.

"One of Knoxville's Outdoor Venue Locations..."

Previously the site of the 1982 World's Fair, this park is a major outdoor venue in the warmer months.  Children can play in the large fountains or walk over to Ft. Kid (with adult supervision.)  Within walking distance is the new convention center, the Knoxville Museum of Art, many shops and restaurants, and the University of Tennessee.  Rollerbladers enjoy all of the flat, paved surfaces.  Be sure to check out the observation deck of the Sunsphere before leaving!

"Something for everyone"

This park was built on the area previously used for the 1982 Worlds Fair. There are places to picnic, pathways for biking/walking/running that connect to local greenways, playground for the kids, really something for everyone. Lots of events are held here throughout the year making Spring and Summertime a wonderful time to visit to see what is happening in the city. Bring the swimsuits for the kids to play in the splash pad fountains. Be aware that the playground, although a part of the park, is actually across a secondary street, so children will require assistance crossing the street and supervision since it is so close to the road.
