Nearly every period of art is featured in this small, excellent city museum. Highlights include a sixth-century floor mosaic in the central court area; a twelfth-century Romanesque house that was moved here, stone by stone, from France; an elevenheaded, ninth-century Japanese sculpture; and an extensive collection of pre- Columbian sculpture in various media, including gold and ceramic. The museum has a fine representative collection of European and American painters. The Museum Cafe serves light snacks and lunches. A garden cafe is open during the summer.
