This is the best park to visit in Fresno. It is a great place to spend the day with the whole family. The park is large enough so you have plenty of space for your family to run and have fun. Even your dogs will love this park.
There are many little playgrounds for the kiddies to have fun. I think the rock climbing wall is awesome. Also, there is a fenced dog park within the park for your animal babies to run around and socialize with other furry friends.
I love spending the day BBQ'ing, hiking, playing with the dogs, and feeding the geese and ducks. I really want to get a kite for the next time I go. There is a $5 fee per car but if you plan to visit often like I do you can buy a yearly pass for about $35 and it is totally worth it. I must admit that the park does have some liter around the pond areas and I wish people would be more respectful.
In the summer they have plays that you can watch for free and everyone including children are welcome. They also sell refreshments during the plays for reasonable prices. I was disappointed that I had a hard time hearing the play and I hope they fix their audio issues for next summer.
There is also a cute little japanese garden. If you are looking to take a peaceful little stroll this is a great place. I believe it only costs $3 to visit the garden and they even have peacocks and koi fish!
I was all excited when I read about this place in Central Valley Parent. It was rated by the people as the best park within Central Valley. The fact that it had a bike path was what made me most excited.
When I took my kids there the grass was dead. The bathrooms were disgusting and far from the parking lot. The Japanese Garden was closed. The bike path was not a very scenic route...There's a great bike path at a beautiful park iin Modesto that is surrounded by trees and I was hoping this to be the same.
The playground was nothing spectacular.
For having to pay to get in, I would have wanted the place to be more attracitve.
Right off Hwy 41 in North Fresno is this large, lovely park. There is an entrance fee, but there are so many options that make it worth it.
Ponds with ducks, bike trails, walking trails, multiple playgrounds, a beautiful Japanese garden, hills to climb (or bike) and sweeping views of the Sierra towards Yosemite makes this place beautiful.
This is a great place to visit while in Fresno, or a great place to stop and stretch your legs on a trip to Yosemite.
