Things to know before you go…
• Campground Office Hours: 8am–10pm
• Camping Season: mid-April through late October
• There are no swimming facilities at Wompatuck State Park
Wompatuck State Park, named after an Indian chieftain from the colonial period who deeded the land to the settlers, covers some 3,500 acres and offers more than 250 campsites (some with trailer hookups) and shower facilities.
Biking paths are threaded throughout the park (12 miles of bike trails), and there is a boat ramp for boating fun (flat-bottomed rowboats only). Other popular forms of recreation are cross-country skiing, fishing, horseback riding, and hiking. Interpretive programs are offered. Wompatuck State Park is home to Mount Blue Spring, which is a drinkable source of water. Try it—it is refreshing!
