Tickets may be purchased at the Kempton station up to 10 minutes before train time. No reservations are required except for the Murder Mystery Train, the Harvest Moon Special, and the Santa Claus Special. Steam and diesel locomotives are used on the 40-minute trips.

"Fun with the Family"
The train ride on the Wanamaker, Kempton, and Southern is about 6 miles round-trip and takes about forty minutes. Pack a picnic and have the train drop you off at a trackside grove. You can ride all day if you like.
A Santa Claus Special rides the rails in December; in October it’s time for the Harvest Moon Special. Please note that although the train is sometimes known as the Hawk Mountain Line, it does not actually
go to Hawk Mountain.
