"Windjammer Fleet offers Authentic Sailing Experiences"

The Maine Windjammer Association has 12 historic ships that offer 3- to 6-day cruises off the Maine coast from May to October. Older kids and teens are welcome on all 12 vessels and three of the windjammers cater to families with kids as young as 5 (Isaac H. Evans, Nathaniel Bowditch, Angelique).

Kids will find plenty to do on board the ship, from tying knots and cranking ice cream to polishing brass or looking for seals. There's extra shore time on family trips, so kids can explore tidal pools or play on the beach. Every trip includes a lobster bake, with plenty of kid-friendly options available.

This is a great vacation for families who want to experience an authentic sailing adventure. Think of it as camping at sea, without the gear or having to worry about cooking!
