"One of the nicest places in Oklahoma"

The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge is one of the nicest places in Oklahoma. It was established to save buffalos from extension.  Buffalos are roaming free in the whole park. Also, you can see lots of longhorns and prairie dogs. So, do not be surprise to have some animals on your camp ground. The place is very beautiful. There are several camp grounds and several lakes. It is nice to take your family there in Spring or early Fall when it is not very hot. There is a museum there as well. People there are really great and always happy to talk to you and assist you. Sometimes we meet there researchers from Oklahoma State University. They are conducting some studies and always happy to explain what they are doing. Like last time, they explained to us how fire affects prairie dogs.
