"Perfect blend of beach and mall"

My family loved this beach. After a fun day of frolicking in the sand this mall is a short 2 minute walk away! The food court is easy to find with yummy kid friendly choices like Chinese food and snow cones. Don't forget to validate your parking while here -Mall parking is validated for 3 hours if you make a food purchase.
For me, the ease of parking and food and restrooms made this beach a winner. For my son, well he really enjoyed riding the mall elevators up and down lol. Ka'anapali beach is gorgeous and since the mall is built on the ocean's edge it's an easy walk from the car to the beach even with a toddler, a pop up tent, a stroller, my beach bag, and a cooler for my son's milk bottles.

"High end"

The Whalers Village Mall is right on the beach!  I love it.  Near MANY resturants, hotels and did I mention the BEACH!  This is an outdoor mall so be prepared for afternoon sprinkles!  But other than that they had every store I wanted there.  We went on our honeymoon and for our one week anniversary my husband got me a Tiffany's bracelet!  I love it!  This was a great memory!

"Great central location"

This is a shopping center.  In Hawaii.  Most of the retailers are high-end but there are a few more reasonably priced shops.  Almost all of the restaurants are beach-front, offering spectacular views.  If you're waiting for your table (which you will), the mall is big enough and offers a variety of water-features (aside from the beach) to keep most toddlers happy.  It seems that on most weekends small concerts occur -- free -- something our toddler enjoys.

"Nice Little Shopping Mall"

We enjoyed an evening at this outdoor shopping mall.  Catch the sunset there over drinks or dinner.  The highlight for the kids might be the open-air trolley that takes your to-and-from the mall.  That alone made the trip worth it for us.  Food is a little overpriced, but where isn't it on Maui?

"Free family activities, souvenirs galore"

The Whaler's Village is basically a clean, outdoor mall that's smack-dab in the middle of the Ka'anapali resort scene. You can find all sorts of gifts to take home to friends and family including my favorite - Honolulu Cookie Co. (Yes, I know that we're visiting Maui, but those cookies are awesome).

We had dinner at Hula Grill which is great for families. The food is excellent and the staff are super friendly. Our favorites were the Shrimp and Scallop soba noodle appetizer and the macadamia-nut crusted Hawaiian fish. We had ordered the roasted chicken for our 3 year-old carnivore, but devoured the fish! I would pass on the chicken next time. The restaurant is right next to the boardwalk, so you can catch an amazing sunset while you dine. The restaurant features nightly entertainment from 3-5pm and 6:30pm-9pm which is quite nice.

After dinner, we headed out and caught the nightly free hula and Japanese taiko drum show that's free on the Whaler's Village stage. Just one of the many free activities at the mall for families and kids to enjoy. The little keiki girls who dance the hula are so cute. A fun way to catch a hula show if you're not able to afford the $100 luau dinners. Yogurtland is conveniently located right next to the stage if you need a frozen yogurt fix like me.

To cap the night, we caught the free Ka'anapali Trolley back to our hotel which our little guy loved. He'd been asking to ride the trolley all day and he enjoyed each minute of it.

"Fun with the Family"

Whalers Village Mall and Museum is filled with shops and restaurants and is definitely worth a visit. The free display area on the upper level offers an in-depth look at Maui’s whaling industry, whaling life, and the brave men who hunted these fearsome mammals. Kids will be fascinated by the real whale skeleton. There is also a reconstructed section of an old whaling ship, accompanied by authentic photographs, drawings, and artifacts from actual ships.

Visitors to the Whalers Village Museum can immerse themselves in the seafaring life of the nineteenth-century whalers via a new self-guided audio tour. In the tour a narrator comments on the fascinating hunt for whales as if reading from his own ship’s log—complete with sounds of a creaking ship, crashing ocean, and excited shouts of “thar she blows!”

In addition to this new tour, the Whalers Village has also begun a program of daily entertainment and activities. During the evening shoppers may be treated to a keiki ukulele concert, Japanese folk dance, Tahitian dancers, taiko drummers, or an ancient hula kahiko show. Shows are Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M.

Daily throughout the week, a Director of Fun leads a family program featuring a variety of free activities such as sand prints, palm weaving, lei making, and other arts and crafts at the “Creation Station.” And, for that perfect “Kodak” moment, shoppers can also become part of a fantasy underwater scene at the “Sea Village.”

"If you love history, you'd love the museum"

My husband loooooved the museum part. But he usually does. I can say, I did find it rather interesting and did learn some things about the whaling industry, some pretty horrific things. It's small so it doesn't take long to go through. The rest of the mall has several shops you can explore to make it worth while. If you have kids 4+ age range, they'd benefit the most, I'd say.
