For a quick outing head to the West Florida Railroad Museum, known to many locals as the Train Depot. The depot was originally built in 1882 but burned down and was rebuilt in the early 1900’s. There are several train cars that you can climb in and out of. My kids love the big red caboose! We spent about 30m on it! There is also a mini railroad train that the kids can ride on. There is a small information booth and a railroad city that you can view. The train tracks are still on the ground so they make for some fun pictures. The kids like walking along the tracks. There is also an active set of train tracks nearby so if you time it right, you can watch the train zoom by up close! In October, the museum hosts Depot Days which is an open house were the kids can participate in train related activities. There isn’t much else to do so it is probably best for the 0-8 age group.
