The Waterpark of America is located inside the Radisson Hotel Bloomington.
This is a great place but I was constantly worried about losing my kids. Everything is so big here. I must say though to be fair my kids would give it a 5 star rating. The water seemed cold to me and the room was very big and open. I prefer smaller places not so huge.
This is a very average water park hotel. The rooms are just okay. The waterpark is great, but very, very loud. Even for water parks it is loud. The toddler area got shut down when we were there because of "poop" and there was no place else for my 3 year old to play. Bummer!! It is just okay.
The Water park of America is not at all what we had expected. The water rides were decent, but the park was overcrowded, and the lines to do anything, including change in the locker room where very long. The prices were steep for a day of waiting in line. I, as a former lifeguard, did not feel like they hard proper supervision in the park either.
The Staff was very friendly and the lifeguards seemed very professional. The locker rooms were clean but just did not seem big enough. There was something for kids of all ages. Although my 9 year old boys were disappointed the surf simulation was broken. The food that you can buy is a little pricey but we brought a cooler with subway.
We had a blast! The water park is completely indoor. Lots of water slides, a surf spot, a lazy river, and a REALLY fun tot spot for the younger children. We spent most of our time there, playing with my child on the little water slides and spraying water fun!
The hotel is large and nice.
The price of admission into the water park is a little high for me though, that would be the only negative.
Billed as the biggest indoor waterpark in America, this place is big. I suppose, because of this status, it's also very popular, because we found it to be very crowded and overwhelming for keeping track of four young kids with two adults.
It features a lazy river, basketball area, lily pad, wave pool, surfing area, and tot area as well as the big slides. It's big and loud and really hard to find a kid once lost. (Yes, that's experience speaking.)
There are lifeguards on duty and apparently life preservers there for use, although we brought our own.
People can buy day passes, or you can get a discount rate if you stay at the attached Radisson Hotel.
Personally, I'd prefer a smaller, less-crowded water park until our kids are old enough to not need constant supervision.
