Here’s the place to learn the story, through ship models, paintings, photographs, artifacts, and tools, of the generations of men who have earned their living from Chesapeake Bay, plus see the impressively large jaws of a right whale. Check out the more-than-one-hundred-year-old Poquoson five-log cabin outside the museum, near the steel replica of the Betsy, a colonial-era British supply ship. Or try oyster tonging off the tonging platform by the York River. River cruises depart daily from the museum’s dock for fishing trips, dining, or the Yorktown Hauntings Cruise.
