"A Classic SF Neighborhood Park"

This is a terrific place to soak up the sun and take in some classic San Francisco scenery. Coit Tower, Lillie Coit's famous homage to firefighters keeps watch from Telegraph Hill above, down the street the TransAmerica Pyramid gives a salute and across the street hymns spill from Saints Peter and Paul Church, a place that has provided the back drop for many a wedding scene in the movies.

The park boasts a nice compact playground making it easy to keep an eye on the kiddies. Positioned in the shade, there are no worries about sun heating up the slide in this playground and potentially burning young legs. And while it is certainly convenient to have a public restroom right next to the play structure, this one is disgusting! Use it only in an emergency!

Washington Square Park is also home to the North Beach Jazz Festival, a great way to pass an afternoon in the city! Many classic North Beach eateries are a short walk from this park including North Beach Pizza and the Bocce Cafe.
