View the sights of our Nation's Capital aboard an open-top double-decker bus. The tour has 25 stops at popular museums and monuments.
If you have old or young people in your party, a sightseeing bus tour of DC might be a good idea. The bus toru will take around the sights of D.C. As a group you can decide where and when to get off. You can also decide to stay on the bus all day. Our family enjoyed taking the bus tour to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Ceremony. The Korean National Army was on duty that day.
We thought it would be a good way to get an overall tour of the city while stopping to see some of the landmarks. In theory that is what it does but it takes along time to get around because of traffic and you end up spending too much time waiting for the buses to arrive. DC is easy to get around either by walking or the underground so I wouldn't waste your money.
Tickets are 41 dollars for adults and 19.95 for children. The bus stops at 25 different major sights in DC--Smithsonians, memorials, hotels, Capitol, Chinatown, etc. In theory, this is great. Hop on the bus to where you want to go. Even after getting off the bus, we still had to walk a ways for most places. Then you end up spending more time on the bus in the DC traffic then you do seeing the sights. The metro worked just as well for us and it is only 7.80 for a day pass. The bus website claims that the buses are air conditioned, but I think our bus must have been broken. It was miserable hot and we were packed on like sardines.
