The W A Gayle Planetarium is located in Oak Park in downtown Montgomery and is a part of the Troy University system. Within the last year, they received a new projector and offer some very cool shows 7 days a week! We visited on a Sunday afternoon and had a fun family outing seeing a show called Firefall which featured meteors, asteroid, and comets. It was just the right length to keep our budding astronaut from wiggling out of the seat (probably best for kids 7 and up) and gave an interesting look at space. The attendant there was also extremely knowledgeable and able to answer all types of questions and showed us some great views of the local night sky and constellations. To reach the planetarium, you must drive all the way through Oak Park and just before the exit, you will see a parking lot to the right - this is the planetarium parking lot.
