This ride is cute, but not very exciting. Little kids will like it, teens not so much. I found it cute but husband loved that we could sit and relax in air conditioning. It's a nice break from the Florida heat and lines to get in were fairly short. It is definetly a great ride to relax on, almost soothing.
The wait was fine - in a room with decorations and videos to keep us and the kids entertained.
We were then ushered into the entertainment hall. The seats were comfortable and the show was great. The live dancers with fish were very engaging to the kids. My daughter has not seen Little Mermaid and really liked the woman. I, however, did not like her singing - she did not get the notes in the high register! it was a good show. A bit scary when Ursula comes out! my daughter got a little concerned! (2 year old) Ursula was large, loud and red eyes -
It's cool it's pretty scary for a child who's never seen the show that's the problem with a lot of the attraction rides even if their not meant to be scary they are because they all have so many tunnels and dark spots to go through to get through the actual ride to get the actual effect of the ride. It's very colorful and fun.
My girls age 5 and 8 absolutely loved the show. Biggest down fall is the waiting for doors to open you practically get smushed and run over by people pushing. The show was fabulous we were close to front and could feel the water and felt like part of the show. Good place to cool down and enjoy a family moment.
We thought this was a ride, but actually it is a show. It has lots of great effects, not scary at all. although it is dark. Beautifully done! Lots of colorful puppets and music. It looks as if you are sitting underwater, and they have bubbles that come down as well. Would definitely do this again!
Our family, including four children, went to this attraction in Dec. 2012. I am so glad we did. This attraction tells an abbreviated version of the Little Mermaid story, with many sensory elements (like water droplets falling on the audience). We were very familiar with the story line, and enjoyed hearing the familiar songs and highlights of the story. The lady playing Ariel was very good with a great voice. It's a theater setting. Fastpass available.
The last time we watched this it seemed like it had been shortened a great deal. We waited for the next show to start for what seemed like over half an hour and then the show was only about 5 minutes long. I was a little disappointed they shortened it so much. Now, if only they would do that to the Finding Nemo musical.
The new Little Mermaid ride is good for young kids. It was a little disappointing for adults. It is great at relaying the story of the classic Ariel tail. Although, Eric's and Ariel's eyes are a bit off.
The disappointment comes from the fact that it is virtually the same ride as the existing Nemo ride in Epcot. A slow continuously moving seashell. I expect more imagination.
We could not help ourselves...we actually sang and danced our way out of the theater after watching this colorful show. The cast is fabulous and the puppets are so cute! There was one scary moment when Ursula makes an appearance but all ends well. It's a very popular show so consider using a FASTPASS.
