What isn't there to love about a summer day at Valleyfair? I would say this amusement park caters to lose above the magical 48 inch line, but there are plent of things to do with the littler ones too. We especially love the waterpark on a warm summer day.
It's a nice place with some fun games and rides but if you have been to the Six Flags locations or Orlando theme parks this may seem like a tiny place. There is a neat waterpark that is great for those hot days of Minnesota (yes, there are hot, humid days here!)
Valleyfair is a wonderful amusement park! They have a variety of rides for the daring and the meek. There is an amazing ball pit/playground that is two stories high and a blast! The water park at Valleyfair has an assortment of rides and is a blast! They also have a great nighttime fireworks show, and if you time it just right you can ride the roller-coaster while watching the fireworks explode.
I've been to a lot of amusement parks... and Valleyfair continues to be one of my favorites. It's a little difficult with small kids as there are only a handful of rides for anyone under 48". However, that said, there is a building near those rides (I can't remember what it's called offhand) that is like a big air-conditioned (that's important info, just so you know :), fight-zone. Foam balls and air-powered shooters all over the place! It was a good discovery for us. :) Oh, and you'll LOVE Valleyfair just in general... lots and lots of great rides. If you go early or late in the season, on a day early in the week... the lines will be short enough that you'll get to ride whatever you want whenever you want! Hardly any waiting!
Valleyfair is one of the places that my children ask repeatedly to go to every summer. It is great that you can go on rides and to the waterpark for one price and not have to pay extra. Great rides for children and adults of all ages. Didn't have to wait in long rides, which was nice since it was sooo hot outside.
Even with little kids, we've found Valleyfair to be fun. There are plenty of tot-sized rides and attractions. We manage to find enough to do with the little-kid stuff that we haven't found time for the water park yet. There's a picnic area outside the gates, so you can take a break if you don't want to buy food inside the park.
