This 22,000 square foot museum showcases geologic, paleontologic, archaeologic and biologic specimens from the surrounding area. The museum also displays special revolving exhibits and offers educational opportunities.
We've been here a couple times and the kids (ages 5, 3, and 1 1/2) love it, but my kids do like dinosaurs. When you come in they tell you so start with the video, but I would advise skipping it with young kids. It's just about paleontology and, although interesting for me, not interesting for the kids. The rest of the place is really kid friendly. There is a room just for babies and toddlers with toy dinosaurs and books. There are large model dinosaurs and dinosaur skeletons. It was fun to see which ones the baby would be scared of. There are lots of hands on things and places for kids to run and play. They do have a gift shop but it is easily avoided if you want to skip it. The museum is stroller friendly but there are some parts where you wouldn't think there would be stairs so be careful of that. I would recommend this place for any dino loving family.
