Uptown Playaround has a 5,000 square foot facility filled with little thrills like zip lines and clubhouses.
I admit, I feel nostalgic for Uptown Playaround because we don't live in the area anymore. It's a kid version of the type of place where "everybody knows your name." We used to be members and come often. The membership is a much better value than the drop in prices because Uptown has MANY weekly and monthly classes and events that are free or heavily discounted for members. We also had a birthday party there and they do a very thorough job creating a tailored party and even offer a free party planning session. My son was turning 6 and we had a super hero themed party. All the kids went through a "Super Hero Training Camp" and got certificates at the end naming them official super heros.
The only con- there is also not much to do there for older kids. My friend's 10 year old said he was bored, although he did play in the jungle gym.
This place has terrific enrichment classes that are an exceptional value. You don't have to sign up and prepay-- just attend during the class and join things like craft, kids yoga, food prep, for only a couple of dollars once the reg. admission is paid. We also went to a birthday party there and it was very different from any other party my kids attended. The host was very interactive, they have a place for the parents to hang out, all the games were themed (we attended a Dora party and the kids went on a scavenger hunt, played games with a very nice Dora mascot, popped bubbles while dancing, etc.).
This indoor play place is ok - there is a big climbing structure great for older kids and there is a toddler section as well as a playhouse with a kitchen and costume. My toddler does enjoy playing there and can stay occupied for about an hour. On a rainy day, it's a great thing to keep in mind.
