This museum is on the original training site of first Navy Frogmen. Outdoor displays include a helicopter and Apollo mission space capsules. Inside visitors can watch a film on the Frogmen and Seal missions. The viewing area houses naval wars artifacts. If you child has an interest in wars, then museum would be appropriate. They would probably get the most out of it from the higher elementary grades and up.
Within Pepper Park you can visit a museum that deals with a most unusual aspect of local history—the training of Navy frogmen in 1943 for the D-Day invasion. It tells the story of Underwater Demolition Teams and the Navy’s SEAL (Sea Air and Land) program. Outside, a collection of specialized naval watercraft, a helicopter, and other large specimens begin this foray into special naval tactics.
